To continue our denim kick on this blog (we recently talked about Agave and selvedge denim), we are going to write about another one of the best denim brands in the biz: AG.

AG is a California-based brand founded in 2000 by Adriano Goldschmied, known as “the Godfather of Denim." AG is widely regarded as a master of both fit and wash—the most important attributes of a pair of high-quality, good looking jeans.

The AG aesthetic is classic and clean. Their jeans tend to run slim, and while they do make impressively skinny jeans, AG also makes a great slim pair of blues that are neither too tight nor baggy. Take the Protégé for instance. The Protégé is a great (and popular) cut—it fits nearly every guy and can be worn everywhere. It’s a slim straight-leg jean and comes in a variety of washes. Really, every guy should own a pair of Protégés.

AG washes range from light blue to black, and the company uses innovative techniques to give its jeans their famous vintage look. One such technique is laser burning, which creates abrasions and removes excess indigo dye from the surface (which is great because having blue hands is the worst). AG also uses art files to add whiskers, holes, and patterns. The result is an authentic vintage look, complete with all the natural wear that happens when you are just breaking in a pair of jeans.

AG has perfected the vintage feel too. It’s like buying a brand new pair of jeans you’ve worn for years. They are beyond comfortable.

It’s no wonder celebrities love AG. Everyone from Ben Affleck to Gisele Bündchen has been spotted wearing them. While we do hate to be those people, we must admit we see the star-quality in AG jeans. You can’t put your finger on it, but you know it’s there.

They are classic, sophisticated, and chic—otherwise perfect for the well-dressed men of Shorewood and Milwaukee.

Come into Harleys and check out our selection of AG fits and washes.
