Neckwear is a huge part of any men’s suit ensemble and whether you’ve chosen to wear a bow tie, a long neck tie, or no tie with a collarless shirt, there’s only one name you should choose, and it’s one that’s huge in designer menswear.

Hugo Boss is of course, one of the most well-known brands and manufacturers of menswear, but when it comes to their men’s fashion accessories, such as ties, they in typical Boss fashion put a completely new spin on it. Within these collections, you’ll still find any style and type of tie that you’re looking for, but if you’ve ever seen a Boss commercial, you already know about the whole new look this company gives ties.

Instead of the tie standing boldly out against the rest of the shirt and suit, and making a statement in and of itself, Boss ties are typically meant to blend in with the rest of the outfit so that they’re still very noticeable, but in a much more subtle way. How they do it is to choose jackets, pants, shirts, and ties that are all the same color – most often, that color is black.

The look definitely makes a statement, but it’s not for everyone. Those who don’t feel comfortable with the monochromatic look will find that wearing an entire suit made of the same color, but paired with a tie just a shade or two darker or lighter will pull off the same effect, but not in such a dramatic way. This is a really sharp look that can be worn just about anywhere.

Of course when choosing the monochromatic look, or the “close-to mono” look, make sure that any of the pieces you’re wearing are only the best, and are only Boss.
